walk-in sales prospecting
Knockdesk is field sales software for walk-in sales prospecting at the business front door. This page is b2b door to door sales and b2b canvassing of storefronts, including small business canvassing next to merchant services. It is not a household knocking playbook. The sample field rows on this page are a fixture of visit outcomes. They are not a customer storefront day.

The map
Walk-in sales prospecting fails when two reps claim the same block of shops. Draw a territory around the commercial area, then cut turf from business pins or a CSV of storefront addresses. One vendor sits on that turf. A weekly visit target can sit on the territory or the turf. The draw screen sits on sales territory mapping.
Polygon, circle, or rectangle, or pick a zip, county, or state for the commercial area.
Lasso inside the territory, a CSV of business pins, or pins already on the map. New turf cannot overlap turf already cut.
One vendor, a weekly visit target, and a field rep who works those pins.
The visit
A note in a phone is not a visit. The rep logs the outcome at the pin. Admins set Display Name and knock behavior on Outcome Stages. Business Closed is already a status. Gated / No Access is already a status. You can add a stage the crew actually says at the counter, including a gatekeeper label, with Requires Notes or Requires Follow-up.
| Outcome | On the pin |
|---|---|
| Business Closed | The place is not open to work. |
| Gated / No Access | The rep could not reach the decision maker. |
| Contact - Call Back | Requires Follow-up can force the next visit. |
| Contact - Interested | Creates Lead can open a lead when that switch is on. |
| Sold | A closed knock on that vendor. |
The desk
A lobby note is how b2b canvassing dies when the gatekeeper name stays private. Add a Display Name the rep picks, turn on Requires Notes so the name is on the pin, and turn on Requires Follow-up so Complete visit cannot finish without the next visit. That is Outcome Stages. It is not a second product.
Complete visit waits until the note is there. The gatekeeper name stays on the pin.
Complete visit waits until the next visit is set.
Turn this on when the stage should open a lead from that walk-in.
The next visit
The callback is how small business canvassing compounds on the same pin. Contact - Call Back can require the follow-up. The rep sets that follow-up before Complete visit. The next stop can sit in the driving order on turf they hold. The unfinished order sits on sales route planning.
| What you watch | What Knockdesk does |
|---|---|
| The stage | Requires Follow-up blocks Complete visit until the next visit is set. |
| Contact - Call Back | A built-in stage that can carry that switch. |
| The route | Unfinished stops on held turf, including the callback pin. |
The example
Merchant services is the B2B front door this playbook sits beside. An ISO crew cuts storefront turf, logs the visit, holds the gatekeeper on a required note, sets the follow-up, and reconciles the vendor file on the confirmation date. The industry page is merchant services. The table is a worked example of the product, not a customer book of business.
| Beat | On the desk |
|---|---|
| The territory | Draw the commercial area. Cut turf from storefront pins. One payments vendor on that turf. |
| The walk-in | Log visit at the pin. Pick the outcome. Business Closed still saves. |
| The gatekeeper | A stage with Requires Notes and Requires Follow-up. |
| The callback | Contact - Call Back on the same pin. Unfinished stops stay on the route. |
| The file | Match the vendor file to a won deal on CRM email. Pay the rate at confirmation. |
The sequence
b2b door to door sales here is the walk-in you can replay on Friday, not a stack of paper menus. Bring one commercial area to the walkthrough and we will cut it with you.
The week
The sample metrics on this page, 82 knocks and 11 appointments, are a fixture. They are not a customer storefront week. Managers read coverage on the turf they assigned. Reps write the outcome at the pin.
