door to door solar sales training
Door to door solar sales training for the setter who cannot quote a percent
Door to door solar sales training on this page is six lessons on this same URL: the territory, the visit, the pitch, the recording, Coach, and the sit. Knockdesk is field sales software. You paste the six steps. The product does not import this page. A free trial of the desk is not open.

Territory
Cut setter turf before anyone quotes solar
Draw the territory as a polygon, a circle, a rectangle, or a zip, county, or state. Cut turf inside it by lasso, by a CSV of pins, or from pins already on the map. The lasso has to stay inside the territory and cannot overlap turf you already cut.
Assign that turf to the setter and put one vendor on the pack. Field prospecting is Full, Semi, or Unrestricted. Full keeps the rep on pins assigned to them. Semi lets them knock an unassigned place only inside a territory that allows field prospecting. Unrestricted lets them create a pin where they stand. Do Not Contact stays off coverage. Onboarding does not block a knock. A shared list in a chat is not a territory.
- 1Draw the territory before the setter leaves.
- 2Cut turf inside it and assign that turf to one setter.
- 3Put one vendor on the pack.
- 4Set prospecting to Full, Semi, or Unrestricted.
- 5Leave Do Not Contact off coverage.
- 6Do not treat a chat list as the territory.
Visit
Log every door, including Not Home
The visit is Start Knock or Log visit on that address. Log every door, including Not Home. Not Home does not create a lead. A blank pin looks fresh on the next loop, so the setter walks it again.
Reps log on iOS and Android. The phone keeps the outcome when the signal drops and sends it when the bars return. Managers read those visits on the web. If the person at the door is not on the bill, do not book the sit. Ask when the bill owner is back and write that return on the pin.
Not Home
Log Not Home. The next loop should not treat a silent door as a door nobody visited.
Bill owner is out
Do not book a sit with someone who cannot change the account. Write when the bill owner is back.
Do Not Contact
Do Not Contact stays off coverage. Do not knock it to fill a tally.
Sit on the pin
An appointment is an outcome on the address. A sit that lives only in a text never reaches the closer.
Pitch
Ask about fit. Do not quote a savings percent.
Door to door solar sales training at the door names you, the company, and rooftop solar, then asks whether solar is even a fit. Do not open with a savings percent. Do not promise income from the system. Any number has to come from their usage, not from a flyer.
Knockdesk does not measure a roof and does not map shade. If you can see from the ground that an array cannot work, say solar may not be a fit and log that. Do not cover the miss with a rebate you cannot name. If they want a proposal, schedule it. If they want a flyer percent as a promise, log not interested.
| Moment | Say this | Do not say this |
|---|---|---|
| Opening | I am [name] with [company]. I am on this turf about rooftop solar. | Your bill will drop by a percent I cannot show. |
| Bill owner | Who is on the bill? | I will pitch whoever opened the door. |
| Fit | If an array cannot work from the ground, I say so and log it. | A rebate I cannot name will fix a roof that does not fit. |
| Close | If you want a proposal I schedule it. If not, I log not interested. | You will earn income from this system. |
Recording
Consent first. Skip still logs the door.
Recording is opt-in. Consent comes first. Say your name and company, then say you want a file. Pick Verbal Consent, Written Consent, or Will Record Consent, then Start Recording. Knockdesk does not ask the other party for you.
If they say no, Skip Recording. The knock continues with no file, and you still log the door. After a file exists, each step can be used, missed, not applicable, or could not check. A suggested outcome sits beside the outcome you logged. The score does not replace the outcome.
- 1Name yourself and the company before you ask to record.
- 2Pick Verbal Consent, Written Consent, or Will Record Consent.
- 3Start Recording only after they agree.
- 4If they refuse, Skip Recording and keep the knock.
- 5Log the door either way, including Not Home.
- 6Keep the outcome you picked. The score does not replace the outcome.
Coach
Paste the six steps. Do not import this page.
Coach holds six steps: opening, rapport, discovery, presentation, objections, and close. You paste the script. The product does not import this page. An admin names the script, picks teams or leaves All teams, and publishes at least one named step. A draft does not score talks.
Keep the savings percent and any income promise out of every step. The sample steps on this page, opener at 7 of 9 talks, are a sample, not a customer script. A chat script never gets a used or missed mark, so the setter can say the line and still leave the visit blank.
- 1Opening: name, company, and rooftop solar. No savings percent.
- 2Rapport: ask if another solar crew has already been on this porch.
- 3Discovery: who is on the bill, and what would make a change worth a look.
- 4Presentation: how pricing is shown from usage. No flyer percent and no income promise.
- 5Objections: log a later time or schedule a proposal. Do not invent a rebate.
- 6Close: write the next step on this address, or log not interested.

Sit
The closer has to open the same pin
A lead opens when the outcome stage has Creates Lead on, one lead per pin and vendor. Show on Deal Board adds that stage as a column. Requires Follow-up can block Complete visit until the date is on the visit. Not Home does not create a lead.
Write who must be home. A sit booked with one adult, when the other adult has to decide, sends the closer into a cold room. If you load addresses, use Import leads. Territory and vendor are required. The file is CSV, XLSX, or XLS. The product never invents a rate. This page does not publish a dollar rate.
Same pin
The closer reads the visit on that address. A recap in a thread is not the household.
Who sits
Book the people who can decide. Write the names on the visit before you leave.
No percent on the handoff
Do not leave the closer a savings percent or an income line you could not show.
Not interested
A no still logs, so the next loop does not knock the pin as if it were new.
Check the walk
Five questions before the next porch
Pick one answer on each question. Each choice adds points. The band is the highest min score your total still clears. This quiz is teaching, not a certified test.
1. The door opens. What is the first solar line?
2. The person at the door is not on the electric bill. What do you do?
3. They hold a flyer with a savings percent. What do you say?
4. They say no to a recording. What happens to the knock?
5. The setter is ready to use this course on the desk. What do you do?
