field sales training
Field sales training for the day that still lives in a chat
Field sales training on this page is six lessons you finish here: territory, the visit, the six Coach steps, the recording, the route, and the rate. Knockdesk is field sales software. Outside sales training that lives in a chat still loses the pin. This field sales training program is those lessons, a quiz that adds points, and a name you print in this browser. It is not accredited and it does not create an account. A free trial of the desk is not open.

Map
Territory before turf
Draw the territory before anyone cuts work. The shape can be a polygon, a circle, a rectangle, or a zip, county, or state. Then cut turf inside it by lasso, by a CSV of pins, or from pins already on the map. The lasso has to stay inside the territory and cannot overlap turf you already cut. Assign that turf to a field rep.
Field prospecting is Full, Semi, or Unrestricted. Full keeps the rep on pins assigned to them. Semi lets them knock an unassigned place only inside a territory that allows field prospecting. Unrestricted lets them create a pin where they stand. Onboarding does not block a knock. A shared list in a chat is not a territory, so the next loop cannot see who held the doors.
- 1Draw the territory as a polygon, a circle, a rectangle, or a zip, county, or state.
- 2Cut turf inside that shape by lasso, by a CSV of pins, or from pins already on the map.
- 3Keep the lasso inside the territory and off turf you already cut.
- 4Assign the turf to a field rep.
- 5Set prospecting to Full, Semi, or Unrestricted.
- 6Send them. Onboarding does not block the knock.
Pin
The visit on the pin
The visit is Start Knock or Log visit on that address, including Not Home. Not Home still saves and still counts as coverage. Do Not Contact stays off the knock list and does not count toward coverage. Reps log on iOS and Android. The phone keeps the outcome when the signal drops and sends it when the bars return. Managers read those visits on the web.
A knock that is not at the door stays unverified, and the visit still saves. Clocked In is not Knocking. The GPS clock uses Active with location required. Auto-Clock can clock you in when you start a route or when you start a knock. The desk does not draw a breadcrumb trail. An outcome stage with Creates Lead on opens one lead per pin and vendor. Not Home does not create a lead.
Start Knock or Log visit
Write the outcome on that address, including Not Home. A blank pin looks like a door nobody worked.
Not Home still counts
Not Home saves and counts toward coverage. Do Not Contact and a door you must not knock do not.
Unverified off the door
If you are not at the door, the visit still saves and stays unverified. Clocked In is not Knocking.
One lead from the stage
Creates Lead opens one lead per pin and vendor. Not Home does not create a lead. Show on Deal Board adds the stage as a column.
Coach
The six Coach steps
Coach holds six steps: opening, rapport, discovery, presentation, objections, and close. You paste the script. The product does not import this lesson. An admin names the script, picks teams or leaves All teams, and publishes at least one named step. A draft does not score talks.
After the recording, each step is used, missed, not applicable, or could not check. That mark sits beside the outcome. It does not replace what the rep logged. A line that lives only in a text never gets a used or missed mark.
- 1Opening: say your name, the company, and why you are at the door.
- 2Rapport: ask one honest question, then wait.
- 3Discovery: ask what they use now and what a change is worth.
- 4Presentation: tie one offer to what they just said. Do not invent a savings number.
- 5Objections: answer the objection they said, then ask if that was the block.
- 6Close: a yes writes the outcome on the address. A no still logs.
Script steps
Sample
1. Opener
7 of 9 talks
2. Clarify the objection
3 of 9 talks
3. Ask for the appointment
5 of 9 talks
File
Consent before the file
Recording is opt-in. Consent is a step. The rep picks verbal, written, or consent they will capture on the file, then Start Recording. Skip Recording continues the knock with no file, and the visit still logs. Knockdesk does not ask the other party for you.
A suggested outcome sits beside the outcome the rep logged and does not replace it. If they will not be recorded, you still write Not Home, a no, or the appointment they actually agreed to.
| Moment | What you do | What the pin keeps |
|---|---|---|
| Consent | Pick verbal, written, or consent you will capture on the file, then Start Recording. | A file only after that step. |
| Skip | Choose Skip Recording and keep the knock going. | The visit still logs, with no file. |
| Outcome | Log what happened at the door. | The suggestion does not replace the logged outcome. |
| Away from the door | Log the visit anyway. | The visit saves and stays unverified. |
Order
The unfinished route
The route takes turf a rep already holds and lines up unfinished stops. Finished doors stay finished. Optimize order runs when 3 to 25 routable stops are selected. A saved pack is ordered in chunks of 24 unfinished stops. Starting the route sets the shift to On Route.
Auto-Clock when starting a route is on unless you turn it off, so a rep who is still offline can clock in, then go On Route. When every stop is done, the pack completes and the shift returns to Clocked In. Round trip is off. A list that reopens finished doors is how the morning lies.
Unfinished stops only
Done stays done. The route is the doors still open on turf the rep holds.
3 to 25 to optimize
Optimize order runs when that many routable stops are selected.
Chunks of 24
A saved pack is ordered in chunks of 24 unfinished stops.
On Route, then Clocked In
Starting the route sets On Route. When the pack completes, the shift returns to Clocked In. Round trip is off.
Pay
A rate that already exists
Commission takes the vendor rate effective at confirmation, then the default organization rate if that vendor has none. If neither exists, the amount stays empty and no commission row is written. The product never invents a rate. A residual is written only if a saved rate already exists. This page does not publish a dollar amount. Full desk is on the pricing page.
A bought list uses Import leads. Territory and vendor are required. The file is CSV, XLSX, or XLS. Import and export stay import and export. Knockdesk has no third-party integrations and no live sync.
- 1At confirmation, use the vendor rate whose window contains that moment.
- 2If that vendor has no rate, use the default organization rate.
- 3If neither exists, leave the amount empty and write no commission row.
- 4Write a residual only when a saved rate already exists.
- 5Import a bought list as CSV, XLSX, or XLS with territory and vendor required.
- 6Export when you need a file. Do not expect a live sync.
Points
Five questions on the field day
This quiz adds points from the choice you pick. It is not a certified test.
1. You are about to send a rep. What do you create first?
2. Nobody answers. What do you put on the pin?
3. You want Coach to score the opener. What do you do?
4. The person will not be recorded. What happens to the visit?
5. The vendor has no rate, and the organization has no default. What does commission write?

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is field sales training on this page?
Field sales training is this one course page: territory, the visit, the six Coach steps, the recording, the route, and the rate. There are no child lesson URLs under this course.
Is this outside sales training?
Yes. Outside sales training here is the same six lessons, finished on this URL, for a crew that sells in person.
What is in this field sales training program?
This field sales training program is the six lessons, a quiz that adds points, and a name you type in this browser and print. It is not a certified test and it does not create an account.
