Sales manager training for the Friday that does not match the turf

Sales manager training on this page is six lessons on the same URL: the territory you cut, the shift, the six Coach steps, contests, the visit, and the saved rate. Knockdesk is field sales software. Field sales manager training here is how you read the day the crew already logged, without a second recount in a chat. A free trial of the desk is not open.

  1. 1

    Territory the manager cuts

Draw the territory, cut turf for the teams you lead, and set prospecting.

  2. 2

    Clocked In and Knocking

Read the shift, Auto-Clock, and an unverified knock that was not at the door.

  3. 3

    The six Coach steps

Publish a pasted script so the score sits beside the logged outcome.

  4. 4

    Contests and kudos

Nine formats run on knocks already logged, and kudos is a separate public shout.

  5. 5

    The visit you can open

Read Not Home, Do Not Contact, and a lead that opens only from the stage.

  6. 6

The rate you do not invent

An admin sets the rate, you read the ledger, and a missing rate stays empty.

Map

Territory the manager cuts

You draw the territory, then you cut turf. An admin sees every territory. A sales manager sees territories on the teams they lead. Draw a polygon, a circle, a rectangle, or a zip, county, or state. Cut turf inside it by lasso, by a CSV of pins, or from pins already on the map. The lasso stays inside the territory and does not overlap turf already cut. Assign the turf to a team or one rep.

Field prospecting is Full, Semi, or Unrestricted. Full keeps the rep on pins assigned to them. Semi lets them knock an unassigned place only inside a territory that allows field prospecting. Unrestricted lets them create a pin where they stand. A rep does not draw the territory. Onboarding does not block a knock. A Friday recount from memory is not the turf the rep held.

  • Territory, then turf

Draw the shape first. Cut the pack inside it. A lasso that leaves the territory or overlaps another pack does not belong.

  • Who can see it

An admin sees every territory. You see the territories on the teams you lead.

  • Full, Semi, Unrestricted

Full stays on assigned pins. Semi allows an unassigned place only where field prospecting is on. Unrestricted can create a pin where the rep stands.

  • Onboarding is not a lock

Onboarding does not block a knock. A contest can still require finished onboarding before someone joins.

Shift

Clocked In and Knocking

The GPS clock uses Active with location required. Auto-Clock can move a rep to Clocked In when a route starts or when a knock starts. Clocked In is not Knocking. Starting a route sets On Route. At the door the state can be At Door, then Knocking. The desk does not draw a breadcrumb trail of the walk.

A knock that is not at the door stays unverified, and the visit still saves. Alerts open for a late clock-in at 15 minutes past the scheduled start, a no-show at 2 hours with no clock-in, extended inactivity, and an unverified streak. Do not treat the dot as the outcome.

  1. 1Turn Active on with location required, or the clock-in does not verify the knock.
  2. 2Let Auto-Clock start the shift on a route or a knock when those settings are on.
  3. 3Read Clocked In, On Route, At Door, and Knocking as different states.
  4. 4Keep an unverified badge when the knock was not at the door. The visit still saves.
  5. 5Open a late clock-in at 15 minutes past start, and a no-show at 2 hours with no clock-in.
  6. 6Do not ask the map for a breadcrumb of the walk. The visit is the outcome on the pin.

Coach

The six Coach steps

Name the script, pick teams or leave All teams, and publish at least one named step. The six steps are opening, rapport, discovery, presentation, objections, and close. You paste them. The product does not import this lesson. A draft does not score talks.

After a recording, each step is used, missed, not applicable, or could not check. That mark does not replace the logged outcome. If the close is missed and the rep logged a no, the pin keeps the no.

  1. 1Paste opening, rapport, discovery, presentation, objections, and close.
  2. 2Name the script and choose teams, or leave All teams.
  3. 3Publish at least one named step. A draft does not score.
  4. 4Read used, missed, not applicable, or could not check after the file.
  5. 5Leave the logged outcome in place when the score disagrees.
  6. 6Do not load this academy page into Coach.

Compete

Contests and kudos

Contests run on knocks that already happened. Save as draft, then Activate and Make it live. Eligibility can require finished onboarding. That is a join rule, not a knock block. Territory War is admin only. The other eight sit on the admin desk and the sales manager desk. Head to head stays invite only.

Kudos is a teammate making a good door public. You cannot kudos yourself. Kudos is not the contest score. Achievement race is scored on badges. Bracket is single-elimination at 4, 8, 16, or 32.

Pin

The visit you can open

Managers read visits on the web. The rep logs Start Knock or Log visit on the phone, including Not Home, and the phone sends the outcome when the signal returns. Not Home counts toward coverage. Do Not Contact stays off the knock list and does not count toward coverage.

An outcome stage with Creates Lead on opens one lead per pin and vendor. Show on Deal Board adds that stage as a column. Not Home does not create a lead. Import and export stay import and export. A bought list needs territory and vendor, as CSV, XLSX, or XLS. There is no live sync.

  • Not Home is coverage

Not Home still saves and still counts. A blank pin is not a clean miss.

  • Do Not Contact is off the list

It stays off the knock list and off coverage. Do not send the next loop back there.

  • Unverified still saved

A knock that is not at the door keeps the unverified badge. Do not delete it to tidy the day.

  • One lead per pin and vendor

Creates Lead opens that lead. Not Home does not. Import a bought list only as a file with territory and vendor.

Pay

The rate you do not invent

Confirmation uses the vendor rate effective at that moment, then the default organization rate if that vendor has none. If neither exists, the amount stays empty and no commission row is written. The product never invents a rate. A residual is written only if a saved rate already exists. This page does not publish a dollar amount.

An admin sets vendor rates. A sales manager can read the ledger for teams they lead. They cannot set a rate. Full desk is on the pricing page.

Points

Five questions on the manager desk

This quiz adds points from the choice you pick. It is not a certified test.

  1. 1. You are opening work for a team you lead. What do you cut?

  2. 2. The rep is Clocked In. The knock was not at the door. What is true?

  3. 3. Coach marks the close as missed. The rep logged a no. What do you keep?

  4. 4. Who can create a Territory War, and can a contest block a knock?

  5. 5. You lead the team. There is no vendor rate and no organization default. What do you do?
