what is sales whitespace
The pins still open on the turf
What is sales whitespace is the work still open: pins on the turf nobody has finished. Knockdesk is field sales software that shows leftover doors against coverage. It does not name a whitespace map product. Coverage is finished doors over assigned doors. Whitespace is the rest of that pack.
Book a Walkthrough| Piece | What you count |
|---|---|
| Definition | Pins still open on the turf. Work that has not been finished. |
| Assigned doors | Pins on the pack a rep already holds, after Do Not Contact comes off. |
| Finished doors | Visited pins, including Not Home. Coverage uses this. |
| Whitespace | Assigned minus finished. The leftover doors. |
| Do Not Contact | Not leftover work. It is off the workable base. |
The leftover
A green coverage percent can still hide a hundred open pins
You feel it when Friday says the area is covered and Monday still has a row of untouched doors. What is sales whitespace is those doors. Not Home is finished for coverage, so it is not whitespace. Unvisited is. Knockdesk does not color a named whitespace layer. You read leftover pins on the turf you already cut.
Open
No visit yet. That pin is whitespace. The next loop should see it as work, not as a surprise.
Finished
A visit landed, including Not Home. Coverage moves. That door is not leftover.
Left out
Do Not Contact and invalid addresses come off the base. They are not whitespace you still owe.
River pack
Two hundred forty pins, ninety-six finished, one hundred thirty-six still open
River pack holds 240 assigned pins. 8 are Do Not Contact. Workable assigned doors are 240 minus 8, which is 232. Maya finishes 96 doors, and 28 of those 96 are Not Home. Coverage is 96 / 232, about 41.4 percent. Whitespace is 232 minus 96, which is 136 open pins. If someone counts the 8 DNC pins as leftover work, they send the crew back to doors they must not hit.
| Case | Finished | Open leftover | Read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Honest whitespace | 96, including 28 Not Home | 232 minus 96 = 136 | 136 doors still open |
| Coverage on that pack | 96 / 232 | Not the leftover count | About 41.4 percent finished |
| DNC treated as leftover | 96 | 144 | 8 pins the crew must not knock |

On the desk
How Knockdesk tracks it
Knockdesk does not name a whitespace map. You cut turf and read visited pins against the pack. Not Home still counts as finished. Do Not Contact and Invalid Address do not count toward coverage and are not leftover work. The open pins are the whitespace. Full desk is on the pricing page.
