what is territory alignment

Match the person to the area they can finish

What is territory alignment is matching people to the area they can finish. Knockdesk is field sales software that draws the sales territory, cuts turf inside it, and keeps a second name off doors you already assigned. A meeting that redraws the slide is not alignment.

The match

Alignment that leaves 40 doors with two names is a collision

You feel it when Maya is buried and Jordan is idle, and both still claim the same 40 doors. What is territory alignment is the Friday check that the owner, the target, and the doors still match. New turf has to sit inside the territory. It cannot overlap turf you already cut.

  • Who can finish it

Give the pack to the person who can hit that weekly visit target. A shape bigger than their week is not aligned.

  • One owner

Assignment routes the turf. Two names on the same pins means the match already failed.

  • No second lasso

A new cut that crosses turf you already saved does not save. That is the overlap you refuse.

Eight hundred twenty

Eighty a week and ninety a week, a match you can recompute

One sales territory holds 820 pins. Maya can finish about 80 visits a week. Jordan can finish about 90. You cut North ridge at 186 pins with a weekly visit target of 80 for Maya. You cut Harbor loop at 210 pins with a weekly visit target of 90 for Jordan. A shared list still left 40 doors on both names. That list was not aligned. The product pace read on a target of 100 in a 7-day window treats 50 visits as behind, 95 as on track, and 110 as ahead. Fifty visits reads behind, 95 reads on track, and 110 reads ahead on that target.

Recompute the match. Same 820 pins. Only the cut and the owner change Friday.

Alignment sits on the territory, not on a slide

A sales territory is the area you draw and assign. Turf is the work cut from it. What is territory alignment is matching the person to the pack they can finish inside that area.

On the desk

How Knockdesk tracks it

You draw the sales territory, assign it, then cut turf a person can finish. The lasso stays inside the territory and cannot overlap turf you already cut. Set a weekly visit target from 1 to 100,000. The turf row shows pins, coverage, Do Not Contact, and the assignee. Full desk is on the pricing page.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is territory alignment?

Territory alignment is matching people to the area they can finish. One owner, one pack, a weekly visit target that person can hit.

Is alignment a meeting?

No. Alignment is whether the owner, the target, and the doors still match. A slide that redraws the map is not that check.

Can new turf overlap turf you already cut?

No. The cut has to sit inside the sales territory and cannot overlap turf you already saved.

Does assigning a territory move every pin?

No. Assignment routes the turf. Pins move when you cut and assign that pack.

What does the 50, 95, and 110 pace read mean?

On a weekly visit target of 100 in a 7-day window, 50 visits reads behind, 95 reads on track, and 110 reads ahead. Those three reads use that named target.
