  1. 1

    Territory

Draw the territory, cut turf, and keep Do Not Contact off coverage.

  2. 2

    Visit

Log every door, including Not Home, before you name a pest.

  3. 3

    Pitch

Ask what they have seen. Do not invent a pest or a health claim.

  4. 4

    Recording

Recording is opt-in. Consent comes first. Skip still logs the door.

  5. 5

    Coach

Paste opening, rapport, discovery, presentation, objections, and close.

  6. 6

    First service

Write the start date on the pin. A cancel has to land there too.

Territory

Give the summer roster a turf with an owner

Draw the territory as a polygon, a circle, a rectangle, or a zip, county, or state. Cut turf inside it by lasso, by a CSV of pins, or from pins already on the map. The lasso has to stay inside the territory and cannot overlap turf you already cut.

Assign that turf to a rep and put one vendor on the pack. Field prospecting is Full, Semi, or Unrestricted. Full keeps the rep on pins assigned to them. Semi lets them knock an unassigned place only inside a territory that allows field prospecting. Unrestricted lets them create a pin where they stand. Do Not Contact stays off coverage. Onboarding does not block a knock. Knockdesk does not issue a city permit. The visit still has to show which pin was logged.

  1. 1Draw the territory before the roster hits the doors.
  2. 2Cut turf inside it and assign each pack to a rep.
  3. 3Put one vendor on the pack.
  4. 4Set prospecting to Full, Semi, or Unrestricted.
  5. 5Leave Do Not Contact off coverage.
  6. 6Do not keep the route in a group chat.

Visit

Log the porch even when the pest is unnamed

The visit is Start Knock or Log visit on that address. Log every door, including Not Home. Not Home does not create a lead. A blank pin looks fresh on the next loop, and a summer roster will knock it twice.

Reps log on iOS and Android. The phone keeps the outcome when the signal drops and sends it when the bars return. Managers read those visits on the web. Do not invent a pest on a door that did not open. Ask what they have seen only when someone answers.

  • Not Home

Log Not Home. Do not write ants, roaches, or rodents on a door that never opened.

  • They name a pest

Use the pest they named. Do not add a second bug to make the plan sound larger.

  • Do Not Contact

Do Not Contact stays off coverage. A full roster is not a reason to knock it.

  • Start date

A yes writes the start date on this address. A card on the mat is not a first service.

Pitch

Sell the service they described

Door to door pest control sales training at the door names you, the company, and pest service, then asks what they use now and what they have seen. Ask about ants, roaches, or rodents only as a question. If they have not seen them, do not put them in the pitch.

Do not claim the service prevents illness, kills germs, or makes the house medically safe. Say the plan you actually run, the visit window, and the price. Do not invent a treatment the crew cannot perform, and do not invent a discount that was never on the offer.

What to say on a pest porch.
MomentSay thisDo not say this
OpeningI am [name] with [company]. I am on this turf about pest service.I already know what is living in the walls.
DiscoveryWhat have you seen, and is service monthly, quarterly, or only when something shows up?This treatment prevents illness.
PlanHere is the plan we run, the visit window, and the price.A discount I made up on the porch.
CloseIf yes, I write the start date on this address. If no, I log it.I will leave a card and call that a sold service.

Recording

Ask, then record. A no still gets a log.

Recording is opt-in. Consent comes first. Say your name and company, then say you want a file. Pick Verbal Consent, Written Consent, or Will Record Consent, then Start Recording. Knockdesk does not ask the other party for you.

If they say no, Skip Recording. The knock continues with no file, and you still log the door. After a file exists, each step can be used, missed, not applicable, or could not check. A suggested outcome sits beside the outcome you logged. The score does not replace the outcome.

  • Consent first

Name the company before you ask. Recording is opt-in.

  • Three ways to agree

Verbal Consent, Written Consent, or Will Record Consent, then Start Recording.

  • Skip still logs

Skip Recording continues the knock with no file. The outcome still goes on the pin.

  • Score stays beside the log

The score does not replace the outcome. You pick what happened, including Not Home.

Coach

Paste six steps. Leave the health claim out.

Coach holds six steps: opening, rapport, discovery, presentation, objections, and close. You paste the script. The product does not import this page. An admin names the script, picks teams or leaves All teams, and publishes at least one named step. A draft does not score talks.

Do not paste a line that says the service protects health. The sample steps on this page, opener at 7 of 9 talks, are a sample, not a customer script. A new hire can finish onboarding later. The knock does not wait, and the pitch still has to be the one you published.

  1. 1Opening: name, company, and pest service. Ask what they use now.
  2. 2Rapport: ask what they have seen. Do not invent the pest.
  3. 3Discovery: monthly, quarterly, or only when something shows up.
  4. 4Presentation: the plan you run, the visit window, and the price. No health claim.
  5. 5Objections: if they already have a company, log it. Do not invent a discount.
  6. 6Close: write the start date on this address, or log the no.

First service

The start date has to survive the porch

A lead opens when the outcome stage has Creates Lead on, one lead per pin and vendor. Show on Deal Board adds that stage as a column. Requires Follow-up can block Complete visit until the date is on the visit. Not Home does not create a lead.

If the first service is called off, log that on the same pin. The product never invents a rate. This page does not publish a dollar rate. If you load addresses, use Import leads. Territory and vendor are required. The file is CSV, XLSX, or XLS.

What the first service needs on the pin. Not a customer sale.
Door resultWhat you writeWhat you leave off
YesStart date on this address, and Creates Lead if that stage is on.A health claim about why they bought.
Not HomeNot Home. No lead.A pest you did not see and nobody named.

Cancel before the visitThe cancel on the same pin.A sold mark that stays up after they called it off.

Five questions on the pest walk

Pick one answer on each question. Each choice adds points. The band is the highest min score your total still clears. This quiz is teaching, not a certified test.

  1. 1. The door opens. How do you start?

  2. 2. They say they have not seen any pests. What do you do?

  3. 3. Nobody answers. What belongs on the pin?

  4. 4. They agree to hear the price and refuse the file. What do you do?

  5. 5. You want the porch lines scored. How do they get into Coach?
