# The list belongs to the city.

Knockdesk is field sales software for teams that sell in person. A no knock list is a city file of addresses that commercial solicitors must skip. A do not knock registry and a no knock registry are city names for that same kind of list, not one national download. This page names La Vergne, Hendersonville, Lakewood, and Norris. This page is general information, not legal advice.

## No soliciting sign laws are local, and they are not the registry

No soliciting sign laws live in city code. They are not a second national list. La Vergne's registry page says a No Solicitation or No Solicitors sign prohibits all door-to-door contact at that residence, while the No Knock registry prohibits commercial solicitation and still allows non-commercial contact. Norris draws the same split with Peddlers or Solicitors Prohibited on the sign. West Point City Code 5.45.180 says a placard no smaller than 16 square inches stating No Soliciting, No Solicitors, No Trespassing, or similar words, posted at the main door or near the sidewalk, is notice, and that it is the solicitor's job to check each residence for that notice.

**The registry.** A city no knock list you print or open before the shift. La Vergne tells commercial crews to use the monthly registry.

**The sign.** A posted No Soliciting notice at that house. West Point puts the duty on the solicitor to look for it.

**The pin.** Mark DNC in Knockdesk so the next turf loop does not treat the porch as Unvisited.

## A paper list in the van is not the pin

The city do not knock registry is only as good as the address that reaches the crew. If the list stays in a glovebox and the turf still shows Unvisited, the next rep knocks the same porch. Knockdesk does not import city files. The walkthrough is how the team pins do-not-contact after they read the city page.

1. Open the city registry page for the city you are running, and skip every listed address.
2. Watch for a No Soliciting sign at the door, even when the address is not on the registry.
3. Clock in with location, then work the turf you were handed.
4. If the resident is on the list, posted a sign, or asked to be left alone, Mark DNC on the pin, or complete an outcome that marks the pin as Do Not Contact.
5. Log the visit anyway when you are at an eligible door, including Not Home, so Friday is not a chat.

## FAQ

### What is a no knock list?

It is a city registry of addresses that commercial solicitors must skip. There is no one national file. This page is general information, not legal advice.

### Is a do not knock registry the same as a no knock registry?

Cities use both names. Lakewood says Do-Not-Knock Registry. La Vergne and Norris say No Knock registry. Hendersonville says Do Not Solicit Registry. Open the city page for the city you run.

### Do no soliciting sign laws replace the registry?

No. La Vergne and Norris treat a posted No Soliciting or similar sign as covering all solicitors, while the registry covers commercial solicitation. West Point requires the solicitor to check each residence for a posted notice.

### Does Knockdesk import the city list?

No. There is no live sync. Mark DNC on the pin after you read the city page or see the sign, so the next turf loop skips that porch.

### What if the house is not on the no knock list?

Still watch for a posted sign. Lakewood tells solicitors not to call a dwelling with No Peddlers or Solicitors Allowed or similar words, even apart from the registry.

### How much does Knockdesk cost?

Full desk is on the pricing page. A free trial is not open.
