# Import the list. Do not wait on a sync.

How to import a lead list in Knockdesk is a file you upload, not a live sync. Knockdesk is field sales software. Open Import leads, pick a territory and a vendor, upload a CSV or Excel file, map the columns, then let geocode finish the pins.

## A list is a snapshot, not a pipe

Import leads CSV is a file you bring to the desk. There is no live sync from another system. The wizard is Upload, Map, Review, Import, Geocode, then Done. If the address line, city, state, and postal code are not all present when you use address import, the row will not geocode cleanly.

| Need | What to map |
| --- | --- |
| Name | Full name, or first name and last name |
| Contact | Email, phone, or address |
| Location | Street, city, state, and postal code, or latitude and longitude |
| Desk | Territory and vendor on the upload step |
