# Export a file, not a sync

You export a report as a file from Analytics, then Reports. Knockdesk is field sales software that builds a saved report, runs an export, and lets you Download PDF, Excel, or CSV. That file leaves the desk. It is not a live sync.

## What leaves the desk, and what does not

A scheduled report still writes a file. It does not keep another product in sync. Compensation on Analytics is a separate file path for pay lines. This article is the Reports export: one saved report, one format, one download.

| Format | Best for |
| --- | --- |
| PDF | Sharing and printing |
| Excel | Further analysis |
| CSV | Universal raw data |

## FAQ

### Where do I export a report?

Analytics, then Reports, then Export. Pick PDF, Excel, or CSV, then Download the run.

### Why is Reports empty?

Save a query from Explorer as a report first. The empty state says that.

### Is export a live sync?

No. Export writes a file. It does not sync another system.

### What if no run exists yet?

Run Now generates an export. Then Download saves the file.

### Who sees Explorer and Reports?

Admins and sales managers, and any seat with Explorer. If those tabs are locked, stay on Dashboard.
