# Start a game as a draft

You create a contest as a game on Compete, for the crew already on the map. Knockdesk is field sales software that scores one format on one metric, on dates you set. An admin opens Compete, then Games. A sales manager opens the same Games tab on the teams they lead. Territory war stays with admins.

## Enrollment before the game goes live

Set who gets in on Basics so nobody is surprised later. Eligibility can require finished onboarding, a lifetime points floor, or a current balance. Open and Invite only can also set Joining opens and Joining closes.

**Open.** Eligible reps join on their own.

**Invite only.** Only invited reps can join. Head to head stays here.

**Automatic.** Team members join when the game goes live.

## FAQ

### Where do I create a contest?

Compete, then Games, then Start a game. An admin runs org games. A sales manager runs games for the teams they lead.

### When do reps see the game?

After you Activate and Make it live. Save as draft keeps it off the field.

### Can a sales manager start a Territory war?

No. Territory war stays with admins. The other formats are on both desks.

### What does Invite only need?

At least one invited rep, except a team head-to-head, which needs two org teams.

### Can a game require finished onboarding?

Yes. Require finished onboarding is an eligibility switch on Basics.
