# People who left, over the crew you average

Sales rep turnover is people who left divided by the crew you average in that window. Knockdesk is field sales software, and what is sales rep turnover here is that named percent, not a headcount product on the desk.

## A week with missing clocks is not a turnover rate

You feel it when Friday says four people quit and nobody can show the last week they worked. What is sales rep turnover is leavers over the crew you average. Name both counts. Then read the days. A chat that says they left does not write the last knock. Knockdesk does not compute a turnover rate.

**Name the leavers.** Count the people who left in the window. Do not mix them with people who never started.

**Average the crew.** Start plus end, divided by two. Starting headcount only is a different formula. Write which one.

**Read the days.** The last week they clocked still sits on the desk. That is the week, not a turnover product.

## Two left, one hire, nine and a half in the average

Start 10. Two leave. One hire. End 9. Average crew is (10 + 9) / 2 = 9.5. Turnover is 2 / 9.5, which is about 21 percent. If someone divides by the start only, 2 / 10 is 20 percent. Same leavers. Different formula. Write which one you mean. The two who left still show days and knocks for the weeks they worked.

| Named base | Numbers | Turnover |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Average crew | 2 / 9.5 | About 21% |
| Start only | 2 / 10 | 20%. Write that you used start. |
| End only | 2 / 9 | About 22%. A third story. |
| Days on the desk | The weeks they still clocked | Not a turnover rate |

## Turnover is the leave. Ramp is the hire. The week is the days.

Ramp time is how long a hire takes to sell at pace. Onboarding does not block knocks. Turnover is people who left over the crew you average. Do not hide a leave inside a missing clock.

## How Knockdesk tracks it

Name the number, then the desk. Knockdesk does not compute a turnover rate and does not ship a headcount roster for that percent. It keeps the days a person clocked and the knocks they logged. You write leavers and the crew average, then divide. Full desk is on the pricing page.
