# How long until the hire sells at pace

Ramp time in sales is how long a hire takes to sell at the crew's pace. Knockdesk is field sales software, and what is ramp time in sales here starts on the first knock, because onboarding does not block knocks.

## Training that locks the knock is not ramp. It is a stall.

You feel it when the new rep sits in the lot because the packet is unfinished. What is ramp time in sales is pace against the crew, measured on knocks that landed. My Onboarding can stay in the sidebar. Sequential locks sit on the tasks. The pin stays open. A contest can still Require finished onboarding before they join a game.

**The knock stays open.** Onboarding does not block a knock or a route. Day 1 can still log 12.

**The list can wait.** My Onboarding stays until Completed or Manually Completed. That is the packet, not the door.

**The contest can wait.** Require finished onboarding is eligibility. It is not a lock on the pin.

## Twelve on day one, eighty by week four, one hundred on the crew

Jordan logs 12 knocks on day 1 with My Onboarding still open. By week 4 they log 80 knocks. The crew pace that week is 100. Ramp against that pace is 80 / 100, which is 80 percent. If someone withheld the pin until 9 tasks were done, day 1 would show 0 knocks and the ramp clock would be a story. Contest eligibility can still wait. In this example the game requires finished onboarding, so Jordan cannot join until the 9 required tasks are Completed.

| Window | Knocks | What stayed open |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Day 1 | 12 | My Onboarding. The pin. |
| Week 4 | 80 | The knock. 80 / 100 = 80% of crew pace. |
| If the pin waited on 9 tasks | 0 on day 1 | That stall is not a Knockdesk setting. |
| Contest | Not scored until onboarding is finished | Eligibility, not a knock block |

## Ramp is pace. Onboarding is the list. A contest is a game.

Sales onboarding is the template in the sidebar. A sales contest can require that list to be done. Ramp time is how long until knocks look like the crew. Do not use the contest gate as a lock on the door.
