# Where the deal sits after the visit

A pipeline stage is where the deal sits after the visit. Knockdesk is field sales software, and what is a pipeline stage here is the column on that household, not the outcome the rep picked at the door.

## A visit outcome is not a pipeline stage

You feel it when Friday has 40 Sold chats and four deals. What is a pipeline stage is the place the deal sits after the knock already landed. Nobody home is still a visit. It is not a deal. Interested can open a household when that switch is on. The stage on the deal is a later label on the same pin.

**At the door.** Start Knock or Log visit, pick the outcome, Complete visit. Nobody home still saves.

**After the visit.** A deal stage is the column that household sits in once the knock created one.

**Same pin.** The deal stays on that address and vendor. A side list is how Friday loses the door.

## Six nobody home, four households, three deal stages

A crew logs 10 visits on assigned turf. 6 nobody home: visit only, no deal. 2 Interested: a household can open when Creates Lead is on. 1 Appointment Set and 1 Sold: those are deal stages after the visit when you turned them on. Visits stay 10. Deal rows in motion are 2 + 1 = 3 if Interested, Appointment Set, and Sold all open. 6 / 10 is 60 percent with no pipeline. Write the switch before you count columns.

| Logged at the door | Count | After the visit |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Nobody home | 6 | Visit only. No deal stage. |
| Interested | 2 | Household can open. Deal stage only if you turned it on. |
| Appointment Set | 1 | A deal stage after that visit |
| Sold | 1 | A won stage after that visit |

## The stage sits next to the disposition, not on top of it

A door disposition is the outcome on the pin. A confirmed sale is the won deal you will pay. A pipeline stage is the named place between those two, after the visit.

- [Door disposition](/glossary/door-disposition): The outcome the rep logged at the door, including nobody home.

- [Confirmed sale](/glossary/confirmed-sale): The won deal you will pay after you confirm it.

## How Knockdesk tracks it

Start Knock or Log visit, pick the outcome, then Complete visit. Nobody home still counts as a visit. Admins name stages and can create a household from that outcome. The deal sits on the same pin and vendor after the visit. Pipeline stages are not picked as the first door label. Full desk is on the pricing page.

## The deal keeps the stage after the knock already landed

Once the visit opens a household, the deal holds the stage you named. Appointment Set and Sold are later labels on that same pin. A chat that says Sold with no visit still has no stage.

## Keep going from the visit

## FAQ

### What is a pipeline stage?

A pipeline stage is where the deal sits after the visit. It is not the first outcome the rep picks at the door.

### Is a pipeline stage the same as a door disposition?

No. A door disposition is the outcome on the pin, including nobody home. A pipeline stage is the later place the deal sits after that visit.

### Does nobody home get a pipeline stage?

No. Nobody home is still a visit. It does not open a deal. In the example, 6 of 10 visits stay off the pipeline.

### When does a deal stage start?

After the visit, when that outcome opens a household and you turned the stage on. Appointment Set and Sold are later labels on the same pin.

### Can the rep pick a pipeline stage at the door?

No. They pick the visit outcome. Pipeline stages are not the first door label.

### How do I recompute the example?

10 visits, 6 nobody home, 2 Interested, 1 Appointment Set, 1 Sold. Visits stay 10. Deal rows only start after the visit.

### How much does Knockdesk cost?

Full desk is on the pricing page. A free trial is not open.
