# The outcome that lands on the pin

A door disposition is the outcome you log on the pin. Knockdesk is field sales software, and what is a door disposition here is interested, nobody home, do not contact, sold, appointment, and the other stages on that address.

## A disposition in a chat is not on the turf

You feel it when Friday has thirty outcomes and the map still looks untouched. What is a door disposition is the stage on that address. Admins can rename stages. The behavior still follows the switches: Creates Lead, Show on Deal Board, Marks as DNC. Nobody-home still counts as a visit even when the display name changes.

**On the stoop.** Start Knock or Log visit while you are there. A tally after the lot is a second shift.

**Nobody home.** Still a visit. The next crew should not recut that pin as fresh turf.

**The switch.** Do Not Contact takes the pin off coverage. Interested can open a lead. Sold can sit on the deal board.

## Forty outcomes, one turf, a day you can recompute

Maya holds one turf and logs 40 door dispositions: 18 nobody home, 10 no answer, 5 interested, 3 appointment, 2 sold, 2 Do Not Contact. Visits that still count as coverage are 18 + 10 + 5 + 3 + 2 = 38. The 2 DNC pins do not add coverage. Forty outcomes hit the pin. Zero lived in a chat.

| Disposition | Count | Coverage? |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Nobody home | 18 | Yes |
| No Answer | 10 | Yes |
| Interested | 5 | Yes |
| Appointment | 3 | Yes |
| Sold | 2 | Yes |
| Do Not Contact | 2 | No |
| Total on the pin | 40 | 38 still count as coverage |

## The label is not the walk, and it is not the ratio

Door knocking is the walk that produced the outcome. Sales coverage ratio is finished doors over assigned doors. Do not contact is one disposition that removes the pin. Keep the three apart when you read Friday.

- [Door knocking](/glossary/door-knocking): The walk. The disposition is what you write when it ends.

- [Coverage ratio](/glossary/coverage-ratio): Finished doors over assigned doors, from those outcomes.

- [Do not contact](/glossary/do-not-contact): The disposition that leaves the knock list.

## How Knockdesk tracks it

Start Knock or Log visit, pick the outcome stage, then Complete visit. Nobody home still counts as a visit. Do Not Contact and Invalid Address do not count toward coverage. Admins rename stages on Outcome Stages. The pin still holds the last disposition on that turf. Full desk is on the pricing page.

## Keep going from the outcome

- [Field sales glossary](/glossary): The hub this term opens from.

- [Door knocking](/glossary/door-knocking): The walk that has to produce this disposition.

- [Door knocking tracker](/features/door-knocking-tracker): Door statuses, nobody-home coverage, and the pin.

## FAQ

### What is a door disposition?

A door disposition is the outcome you log on the pin: interested, nobody home, do not contact, sold, appointment, and the other stages on that address.

### Does nobody home count as a visit?

Yes. Nobody home is still a visit and still coverage. Do Not Contact is not coverage.

### Can we rename the dispositions?

Yes. Admins rename them on Outcome Stages. The switches on that stage still decide leads, deals, and DNC.

### Is a disposition the same as coverage ratio?

No. The disposition is one door. Coverage ratio is finished doors over assigned doors on the turf.

### What if the outcome never hits the pin?

Then it is not a door disposition on this desk. A chat tally cannot keep the next crew off a pin you already walked.

### Which dispositions can open a lead or a deal?

Stages with Creates Lead can open a lead. Stages with Show on Deal Board can add a deal column. Sold and Appointment Set are the usual pair.
