# Sales territory mapping software for the turf that slipped

You are looking for sales territory mapping software because a pin on a map did not tell you who owned the doors. Knockdesk is field sales software that draws the territory and cuts turf inside it, so Friday's number has a boundary. The sample card on this page, North ridge, is 186 pins and 42 percent complete. That card is a sample, not a customer result.

## The Friday number needs a boundary

You draw the territory as a polygon, a circle, or a rectangle, or you take a zip, a county, or a state. Then you cut turf inside it by lasso, by a CSV of addresses, or from pins on the map. One vendor sits on that turf, with a weekly visit target and a hot, warm, or cold read.

**Draw.** Polygon, circle, or rectangle when you trace it yourself. Zip, county, or state when you pick a shape.

**Cut turf.** Lasso, a CSV of pins, or pins already on the map. The lasso has to stay inside the territory.

**Read the week.** One vendor, a weekly visit target, and a hot, warm, or cold read from contact rate against the team.

## How a blank map becomes a rep's turf

This is sales territory management software you can hand to a person. The steps are the same ones on the draw screen, and the last step is a rep who can work the turf on Monday.

1. Draw the territory as a polygon, a circle (the Radius tool), or a rectangle, or pick one zip code, or one or more counties or states.
2. Assign that territory to a team or to one field rep. That routes the turf. It does not, by itself, reassign every pin.
3. Cut turf inside the boundary by lasso, by a CSV import of pins, or from pins already on the map. The lasso must sit inside the territory and cannot overlap turf you already cut.
4. Put one vendor on the turf. Set a weekly visit target from 1 to 100,000 visits a week, on the territory or on the turf.
5. Assign the turf to a field rep. They work the pins on the turf they were given.

## The settings on the draw screen

People search sales mapping tools and get a legend. These are the controls the product actually saves.

| Setting | What you set |
| --- | --- |
| Polygon | Click points on the map and close the shape. At least 3 points. |
| Radius (circle) | Click the center, then the edge. A saved radius is 100 to 100,000 meters. |
| Rectangle | Click two corners. |
| Zip, county, state | One zip code (Census ZCTA, not an official USPS route). One or more counties or states. |
| Turf cut | Lasso on the map, CSV import of pins, or an empty turf you fill later. A lasso must sit inside the territory and cannot overlap turf already cut. |
| Pins on the turf | Pins inside the drawn turf, a list of existing pins for that vendor, or addresses generated from the map. |
| Vendor | One vendor, required on the turf. |
| Weekly visit target | 1 to 100,000 visits a week, on the territory or the turf. Blank means no target. |
| Hot, warm, cold | Contact rate versus the team. Hot: at least 15 percent relatively higher, or 5 percentage points higher. Cold: the same gap lower. Warm: between those. Mixed if one rate is hot and the other is cold, or if more than 30 percent of eligible doors are left while appointments are hot. Under 10 visits on the place or the team, or a missing contact rate on either: not enough data. |

## What a manager sees, and what a rep sees

Sales rep territory mapping software, for the person at the door, is the turf they were assigned. The sample row on this page is what a manager reads: North ridge, 186 pins, 14 converted, 3 DNC, 78 of 186 visited, Maya Chen. That row is a sample, not a customer's week.

**Manager.** An admin sees every territory. A sales manager sees territories on the teams they lead. They draw, assign a team or one rep, set the weekly visit target, and read each turf row: pins, converted, DNC (Do Not Contact), coverage, the assignee, and a hot, warm, or cold label.

**Rep.** A rep does not draw the territory. They see turf assigned to them, or turf in a territory where they are the assigned rep, and they work those pins. In Semi lockdown, they can knock an unassigned place only inside a territory that allows field prospecting. Full lockdown keeps them on pins assigned to them.

## A spreadsheet cannot refuse a second claim

A spreadsheet lets two reps claim the same doors. With sales territory mapping, the second turf has to sit inside the territory, and it cannot overlap turf you already cut. Buying sales mapping software that only drops a pin still leaves Friday as a recount.

Here is the desk's own pace math, from the product, not a customer. A weekly visit target of 100, a 7-day window, and 50 visits is behind at half the target. 95 visits is on track. 110 visits is ahead. Ahead starts at 110 percent of the target. On track starts at 90 percent.

| | Spreadsheet | Knockdesk |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Boundary | A list of addresses | Polygon, circle, rectangle, zip, county, or state |
| Overlap | Two reps can work the same doors | A new turf must sit inside the territory and cannot overlap turf already cut |
| The week | You recount the sheet | A weekly target of 100 with 50 visits in 7 days reads behind |

## FAQ

### What does sales territory mapping software do here?

It draws the territory and cuts turf inside it. It is not a pin dropped on a basemap with no owner. You assign the turf, set a weekly visit target, and read hot, warm, or cold from contact rate against the team.

### Is this sales territory management software?

Yes. You assign the territory to a team or one field rep after you draw it. A sales manager sees the teams they lead. An admin sees every territory.

### Which sales territory management tools are on the screen?

Polygon, circle, rectangle, zip, county, and state, then turf by lasso or CSV, one vendor, and a weekly visit target from 1 to 100,000 visits.

### What does a rep get from sales rep territory mapping software?

The turf assigned to them, or turf in a territory where they are the assigned rep. They work those pins. They do not draw a new territory.

### Is Knockdesk a territory management app?

Yes. Knockdesk is a territory management app on the web for managers, and reps work the assigned turf on their map.

### How does a weekly target of 100 visits score?

Over 7 days, 50 visits is behind, 95 is on track, and 110 is ahead. Ahead starts at 110 percent of the target. On track starts at 90 percent. That is the product's pace math, not a customer result.

### Which plan includes sales territory mapping, and what does it cost?

Full desk only,. There is no second Knockdesk tier. A free trial is not open. Book a walkthrough.
