# Open the lead from the visit.

Knockdesk is field sales software for teams that sell in person. Field sales lead management here is a lead that opens from the visit when the outcome has Creates Lead on, one lead per pin and vendor, and a bought-list import that is a file, not a live sync. A name typed into a sheet is not that lead.

## What a lead tracking app for sales reps has to hold

A lead tracking app for sales reps fails the week the household never sits on the pin. Door to door lead tracking in Knockdesk follows the visit. The deal card on this page is a sample. It is not a customer job.

## How a sales lead tracking app opens from the knock

A sales lead tracking app here is the outcome the rep already logged. Lead management for outside sales stays on that same pin and vendor. Complete visit is where the lead starts.

1. On Outcome Stages, turn on Creates Lead for the results that should open a household. Turn on Show on Deal Board for stages that should appear as deal columns.
2. The rep completes the visit and picks that stage. If the pin has more than one vendor, they pick who they knocked for.
3. Knockdesk keeps one lead per pin and vendor. The lead sits on that address, not in a side list.
4. A bought list uses Import leads. Territory and vendor are required. Upload CSV or Excel, map columns, geocode, then download a failures CSV for rows that did not land.
5. Import leads is a file. It is not a live sync.

## Settings in the product

These are the switches and the import wizard in the product. The pipeline table above is a sample of how stages can read. Your labels can differ.

| Setting | In the product |
| --- | --- |
| Creates Lead | On an outcome stage. Completing a knock with that stage opens a lead when contact fields are present. |
| Show on Deal Board | Adds the stage as a deal column. Win probability is available when that switch is on. |
| One lead per pin and vendor | The household is the pin plus the vendor the rep knocked for. A second vendor on the same pin can hold its own lead. |
| Import leads | Territory and vendor required. Lead source and Assign to are optional. |
| File types | CSV, XLSX, or XLS. Map a name, at least one of email, phone, or address, and a location. |
| Location on import | Street, city, state, and postal code, or both latitude and longitude. |
| Geocode | Fills missing coordinates from addresses, and missing address fields from coordinates. |
| Failures CSV | Download rows that did not import. Duplicate email or phone on the same pin for that vendor can be skipped. |

## What the admin sets and what the rep opens

Admins set the stages. Reps open the lead at the door. Managers read the board those stages already named.

**Admin.** Outcome Stages, Creates Lead, Show on Deal Board, and Import leads. The territory has to exist before a bought list can land.

**Rep.** Complete visit, pick the vendor if needed, pick the stage. The lead opens when that stage creates one.

## Versus a spreadsheet

A sheet can hold a bought list. It does not open a lead from Creates Lead, keep one lead per pin and vendor, or hand back a failures CSV. The table is an example, not a customer import.

| What you watch | On a sheet | What Knockdesk does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Interested door | A highlight | Creates Lead opens a lead on the pin |
| Same house, two vendors | Two rows that drift | One lead per pin and vendor |
| Bought list | Paste into a tab | Import leads with territory and vendor required |
| Bad row | Silent skip | Download a failures CSV |
| Another system | Hoped-for sync | File import only. Not a live sync |

## FAQ

### What is field sales lead management in Knockdesk?

A lead that opens from the visit when the outcome has Creates Lead on, one lead per pin and vendor, and a bought-list import that is a file upload.

### How does door to door lead tracking start?

The rep completes the visit and picks a stage with Creates Lead. If the pin has more than one vendor, they pick the vendor. The lead sits on that pin.

### Is this a sales lead tracking app or a live sync?

It is a sales lead tracking app on the pin. Bought lists use Import leads. There is no live sync from another system.

### What does lead management for outside sales need on import?

A territory and a vendor, then a CSV or Excel file. Map a name, a contact method, and a location. Download a failures CSV for rows that did not land.

### What does Show on Deal Board do?

It adds that outcome stage as a column on the deals board. Win probability is available when that switch is on.

### Can two vendors share one lead on the same pin?

No. Knockdesk keeps one lead per pin and vendor. A second vendor on that pin can hold its own lead.

### Which plan includes field sales lead management?

Full desk is the only Knockdesk plan. It is Full desk. A free trial is not open.
